Financial Wellbeing and Capability Activity Grant Opportunity: Financial Counselling for Gambling
The Australian Government is inviting organisations to apply for funding under the Financial Wellbeing and Capability (FWC) Activity – Financial Counselling for Gambling program, through an open competitive grant process.
Up to $31.2 million over 5 years will be available for these grants, nationally, from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2030.
The Financial Counselling for Gambling program provides specialised financial counselling services in targeted locations to support eligible people experiencing financial stress or hardship as a result of harm from any form of gambling, including in-person, land-based gambling (such as electronic gaming machines) and online gambling.
The grant opportunity is expected to open in coming weeks, for 6 weeks.
Priorities for these grants include:
- to provide safe, inclusive, culturally appropriate, timely and accessible financial counselling services to support people experiencing financial distress as a result of gambling harm.
- to provide services that support the longer-term financial wellbeing needs and build the confidence and financial resilience of individuals and families affected by gambling harm.
- the provision of a mix of face-to-face, phone and online services
- services and funding are provided at the ABS Statistical Area Level 4
- participation in sector-wide financial counselling projects.
